XK 140 DHC Stolen on Saturday 22 May

Early in the morning between 2 and 6 am an XK 140 DHC RHD was stolen from a car park at a little hotel near Spa in Belgium.

    The car details are:

Dark Green with Tan interior and Black hood. It has a C-head, overdrive, hydr. clutch, disc brakes, ventilator behind radiator.

  • Engine# : G31678S
  • Chassis# : S817367DN
  • License# : ME - XK 140H

It is remarkable that they again picked a RHD. This car was converted from LHD to RHD. Three years ago there were 2 XK DHCs, also RHD, stolen from a car park at a hotel near Maastricht, which is only 60 - 80 miles far away from Spa.

The criminal gang picked the XK out of a group of 15 Jags, which were grouped together on the property of the hotel. The car was secured with a steering wheel lock and also with a clandestine anti-theft device -an alarm siren which should start working immediately if somebody tries to short-circuit the ignition.

The thieves must have used a lift or crane to single out the XK, which was the last in the row close to the exit. They also tried to take away an E-Type SIII, but perhaps they were disturbed. This car was left open with broken door and steering locks.

The police were called but they did not do much. No securing of evidence, no interest, nothing.

Very sadly, it is likely that these cars will be broken up into parts and sold off in this way. Please keep your eyes open and report any information to the XK Club at info@xkclub.com and we will contact the police. Let's help each other by beating the thieves. Thank you.
