National Museums Tour

"Back in February 2019, the Lancashire & Cumbria region organised a private tour of the vehicle stores and workshops of National Museums Liverpool. With a collection of over 200 items ranging from bullion trolleys to steam locomotives the Museums just don't have enough space to display everything, and a lot of the collection is kept in a couple of anonymous warehouses in the north of the city. The visit received a lot of positive feedback, so we'll be running the same tour again in the Spring of 2022."

Dates are still to be finalised, but get in touch with regional representative, Nigel Walker to make sure you get a place on this popular tour."

Derbyshire Peak District Drive

From Peter Wells: “Following our drive into Snowdonia in July of this year I had several requests for a similar event, but with two overnight stays rather than one, giving us more time to explore the area in depth. The Derbyshire Peak District is very scenic, has so many places of interest and is an ideal area for such a venture. I have reserved rooms at the Izaac Walton Country House Hotel at Ilam in Dovedale for the two nights of 3 and 4 May 2022.

“We would arrive after 3.00pm on Tuesday 3 and have the opportunity for local exploration or a stroll along the River Dove before meeting for welcome drinks together at 6.00pm. We then dine together in their private dining room overlooking Dovedale.

“Next morning, we leave for a 70 mile very scenic drive through the Peak District with the opportunity to stop off and explore such places as Chatsworth House, Blue John mine, Castletown Cavern, Winnats Pass, Bakewell and several delightful villages including the 17th Century ‘plague’ village of Eyam. We dine together again on Wednesday evening and, after breakfast on Thursday morning, take our own routes home."
